New Whiskey Arrivals

The arrival of the first official release of a single malt whisky from the Chichibu No. 2 distillery!

The second Chichibu distillery will open in 2019 in the Midorigaoka Industrial Park, 600 meters away from the first.
Production began in October of the same year. Since the supply had been extremely low and "sold out as soon as it was released," the Chichibu No. 2 distillery increased its production to 2 tons of malt per batch, making the production volume about five times that of the first distillery.
The mash tun and pot still are made by Forsyth, as in Daiichi, but the two stills (first distillation and second distillation) both feature direct gas firing. This is in pursuit of the "starting point of whiskey making," which was the ideal of the company's founder, Ichiro Hido, and it brings out a complex and powerful aroma.
In addition, the first fermenter is the world's first fermenter made of Quercus crispula, while the second is made of French oak ordered from Taransaud of France. The mash tun is semi-rotary tan, and the wheat layer is visible through the side sight glass.
Venture Whiskey also has its own cooperage in the same Midorigaoka Industrial Park, which it inherited from Hanyu's Maruetsu Western Casks, and handles everything from purchasing Mizunara oak wood to barrel making.

The casks filled this time are bourbon casks. The age of the cask is expected to be around 4 years. It is perfect for experiencing the "now" of Chichibu No. 2!

The release of the second bottle of Chichibu Festival 2024 was the first time that a bottle of Chichibu Festival sake was unveiled.
