The Director's Special is the ultimate cask selected by the Chief Executive Officer of Elixir Distillers.
Special bottles are bottled for perfect aging, the classic characteristics of the distillery and the subtle changes that time and oak create.

The cask selected for this project is a very valuable 30+ year old cask from Imperial, a closed distillery that no longer exists.
Distilled in 1990, aged for 32 years in bourbon barrels and cask strength bottled.
Only 120 bottles of this single cask were produced, and it is limited to the Japanese market.

The distillery is closed, so there have been few releases. The tropical and fruity aroma has increased in popularity, and in recent years it has become very difficult to obtain, but an Imperial aged over 30 years is even rarer.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Aromas of tropical fruits such as mango and pineapple, ripe yellow peach, and honey, characteristic of long-aged Imperial wines.
■ Mouth: The slightly bitter sweetness of mango, yellow peach simmered in syrup and ripe loquat, which was detected in the aroma, unfolds, while vanilla cream and oak create a beautiful melody.

We met them at a tasting in October and are now finally able to bring them in.
The yellow fruit and peaches that can be detected in the nose and palate come to the fore, with a gentle, relaxed body, but just a hint of astringency to clarify the contours. The taste of loquat is also very convincing! A must try!
