This is a release from Glengyle Distillery located in Campbeltown, Scotland, bottled for the Japanese market to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the distillery. It is a single cask cask strength in first fill bourbon barrels.

Tasting Comment

Color: shiny gold

Nose: Light smoke with citrus, followed by vanilla, yellow fruits, and a hint of sea breeze blowing through Campbeltown.

Taste: Malty, evolving into fruity with beeswax, vanilla and spice.
Light peat smoke appears on the finish, with a slight tidal influence.

Kilkerran, a whisky named after the original settlement of Ceann Loch "Cille Chiarain", which was located in present-day Campbeltown, out of pride in carrying on the traditions of Campbeltown.
It was actually founded by William Mitchell, son of Archibald Mitchell, founder of the Springbank Distillery, one of the most popular distilleries in Campbeltown.
Among the distilleries in Campbeltown, which had the misfortune of closing their doors in succession due to the recession, this distillery closed its doors once in 1925, but after acquisitions and renovations, it resumed production in 2004.
