Here's a sweet bottle from Carilla, the perfect introduction to Islay.

This is a small batch type of the "Single Malts of Scotland" series, which is characterized by bottlings that make the most of the distillery's individuality, and is aged 10 years by vatting only three barrels of original PX sherry butts.
The sweetness of the aroma is as strong as the smokiness of Carilla.

<Tasting Notes
Nose: Full, with leather, soft date and cherry jam, and smoked bacon.
Mouth: the richness brought by sultanas and stewed fruit unfolds, mingling with campfire smoke and bitter dark chocolate.
FINISH: A long, lingering chocolate finish, with smoke reappearing.
