Yamazakura Azumi Ghost Series

Yamazakura Azumi Ghost Series
YAMAZAKURA ASAKA GHOST SERIES
New Whiskey Introduction
The YAMAZAKURA whiskey brand introduced here is produced by the Azumi Distillery, owned by the Sasanokawa Brewery in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture.
The distillery is located south of Lake Inawashiro and is called the "wind distillery" because of the "Bandai oroshi" wind blowing down from Bandai-san (Mt. Bandai) in winter.
The climate, with its large difference in temperature between summer and winter, promotes the maturation of the whisky in the maturing cellar and fosters its individuality.
It is released as the 5th Anniversary bottle of popular whiskey BAR ALOHAWHISKY.

Since moving to Japan in 2000, Belgian Stefan Van Aken has been researching Japanese whiskey, and he is a journalist who continues to publish information on Japanese whiskey on sites such as "Nonjatta.
He was the first person to introduce to overseas fans the details of Japanese whiskey, which is attracting attention from all over the world, and has now added a great deal of the latest information to his book "WHISKY RISING".
Translated by Hideo Yamaoka, a world-renowned whiskey collector, and others, the Japanese edition was published.
This book also includes additional commentary on distilleries newly established after 2016, making it the most detailed book on Japanese whiskey and a must-have for whiskey fans.
And of great interest is the whisky featured in the book, "The Ghost Series," which the author, Stefan Van Aken, himself was involved in planning.
In 2013, the first bottle, Karuizawa 16 The first bottle, "Karuizawa 16 Year Old," was released in 2013 in a limited edition of 140 bottles, and since these are Japanese whiskeys carefully selected by Stefan and precious bottles were chosen, the rarity of the second bottle in the series, which is limited to 22 bottles, has also become a topic of conversation. All of them are now so popular that they are traded at premium prices.
