This private bottle of Ichiro's Malt was bottled to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ishikawa Shuhan in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Aged 8 to 9 years in refilled bourbon barrels.
This is a refill, which means that the aroma from the casks is moderate, allowing you to enjoy the house style of Chichibu Distillery.

▶︎ Chichibu Distillery
Founded by Ichiro Hido, grandson of the founder of Hanyu Distillery, which closed in 2004.

The distillery is built on top of a small hill about 30 minutes by car from the city center, creating a harsh environment with high temperatures and humidity in summer and freezing temperatures in the morning and evening in winter.
The strong temperature differences caused the liquid to expand and contract, which had the positive effect of accelerating the maturation of the whiskey in a short period of time.

Normally, stainless steel, cedar, or pine is used for fermentation vats, but the Chichibu distillery uses mizunara oak, which is indigenous to Japan.
Lactic acid bacteria that prefer mizunara (quercus mizunara), like the yeast used in sake production, live in the area and are one of the factors that give Chichibu its unique character.

This bottle has 621 TP3T by volume, a vanilla aroma derived from bourbon barrels, and a dense Chichibu whiskey.
