Rough Coast Secret Islay Single Malt 100 Proof, Red Wine Cask Matured

Introduction of newly arrived whiskey

The second DRAMLAD bottle, "Rough Coast - Batch 1 Red Wine Cask" was released in 2021, followed by "Rough Coast - Batch 2 Hogshead" in 2022. Many of you have asked us to re-release bottles like Batch 1.
We also wanted to release a bottle that would be enjoyed by whisky fans as a staple, and Rough Coast was our first choice.
It has taken time to realize this, but we are now able to bottle at 100 proof (57.11 TP3T) in the Red Wine Cask, which many of you have requested, as well as to retain the classic but powerful drinking experience of Batch 1. The original distillery is, of course, called "The Hollow with the Water Mill" or "The Water Mill in the Valley" as well as Batch 1 and Batch 2.
Rough Coast has been released twice before in The Age of Innocence series, which is positioned as DRAMLAD's entry range, but this time it is being handled as a completely independent product with a new label.
The design pays homage to the good old days of old bottles with a design that makes it easy to tell that it is red wine cask and 100 proof, while also paying homage to the old bottles throughout the label.

◆Tasting Notes

Nose: The top notes are saline, seaweed and mineral, reminiscent of sea breezes. Lightly nose piercing smoke, simultaneously salted caramel, sweet and sour blackberry, and wet root vegetables and earthy nuances in the back.
Taste: sharp, dry and moderately oily mouthfeel. Smoked black pepper spice rides the tongue. Nuances of tanned leather and bacon are captured on the nose, while sweet and sour berry jam aromas appear at the same time.
Finish: Wet coastal driftwood, seaweed, root vegetables, earthiness, and roasted almonds add depth to the aroma, while the fresh salty, spicy, smoky aroma is light on the nose and finishes sharp and dry with a good overall thickness.
