The Glover by adelphi 18y
Today, June 28, is designated as the Trade Anniversary as it is the day when the Edo Shogunate issued a proclamation to open the three ports of Yokohama, Nagasaki, and Hakodate for free trade under the Treaty of Friendship and Commerce in 6 Ansei era.
In honor of this trade anniversary, today we introduce The Grabber, a world blended whiskey from Adelphi.
Thomas Blake Glover was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
During the upheaval at the end of the Edo period, he interacted with samurai from the Satsuma clan and other clans, and by selling ships, cannons, and other weapons, he played a shadowy role in the fall of the Edo shogunate.
In honor of this bridge between Scotland and Japan, this is the Adelphi Special Bottle released in his honor.
It combines single malts from the Hanyu distillery, which closed in 2004, and several Scottish single malts to create a fruity, oaky finish.
Official Tasting Notes - Color is ripe corn, sunshine. Taste is rich and fruity, ripe pear, juicy bright red apple, cherry with orange juice. Vanilla, strawberry jam and whipped cream on top of sponge cake. As it is watered down, it becomes melt-in-your-mouth sweet, with chocolate, coconut, ripe pineapple and pepper to cool the palate. The finish is very complex and elegant with expanding violets.
Only a few limited bottles left.
Why not taste it while experiencing the history of Japan and Scotland?
We look forward to serving you today.
We are open for business as usual World Blended Whiskey
